“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and man.” - Mark Twain.
In the past my brother in law here in Colombia had a holiday home in a town about an hour from Medellin called La Ceja, where we used to go on long weekends and during holiday seasons such as Easter and Christmas. In Spanish these holiday homes are called fincas and many times I see the word translated into English as farm, however, most fincas are not farms as they are not involved in agriculture, but instead are just weekend retreats. Most foreign people living here in Colombia use the word finca and I have seen the word occasionally in English dictionaries so it appears that the word is slowly creeping into the English language.
